Beatle fans across the country will converge on Nashville, October 23 to 25 for three days of concerts, panel discussions and memorabilia displays at the Fab Four Festival 2008. Music lineup: Liverpool Legends; The Long Players; In-the-round with Gary Burr, Buzz Cason, Marshall Crenshaw, Joey Molland, and Bill Lloyd; FAB; and the WannaBeatles. Beatle Festival Returns to Nashville October 23-25
Beatle fans across the country will converge on Music City, October 23 to 25 for three days of concerts, panel discussions and memorabilia displays at the Fab Four Festival 2008. Now in its third year, the festival will be held at The Cannery on historic Cannery Row in downtown Nashville.

Kennywood Park in Pennsylvania hosts an annual Halloween event that opens Friday, September 26.
Phantom Fright Nights Draws National Attention
Kennywood's Phantom Fright Nights continue to receive acclaim. On Sept. 12, 2008, Hauntworld Magazine, the "haunt" industry's leading trade magazine, named Phantom Fright Nights as the # 3 Amusement Park Halloween Event! This year the Kennywood event, Phantom Fright Nights, opens Friday, September 26 and continues Friday and Saturday evenings through November 1. Hours are 7 PM to1 AM. (A bonus night, Sunday, October 12, has hours of 7 PM to 11 PM.)

Hindu organization opens its doors to house evacuees fleeing dangerous storm.
Barsana Dham Temple Shelters Hurricane Ike Evacuees
More than 150 people from Houston and the coastal area evacuated to the Barsana Dham temple located in northwest Hays County. Many of the evacuees are of the Hindu faith or natives of India who are seeking shelter from the storm.

The Center for Advanced Medicine & Clinical Research announced last week it will hold 3 seminars, all involving various components of advanced "Brain Balancing" techniques. The seminars will run in September and October 2008 and will feature two prominent speakers, with a focus on how balancing the brain can lead to balance in all aspects of life, from the therapeutic perspective, to the emotional and psychological effect on chronic disease, to the application of this balancing and its relationship to success in all aspects of life.

From October 2 to November 13, 2008, the third annual Equality Ride will visit 15 faith-based colleges with campus climates or official policies that exclude lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students.

Although we usually love articles like this, we can't help but feel that Ms. Barr's pick is based on her wishes instead of good sound divination practices. That being said, I guess we won't really know until November rolls around.
