About a year ago, when we began selling polished and raw gemstones at our store, The Unicorn Shoppe, we created this handout to help customers know about the metaphysical and healing properties of the various stones we keep in stock. We're passing it on to you as a reference.
Metaphysical & Healing Properties of Gemstones Amber: Metaphysical properties: Amber radiates a soothing, light energy that is both calming and energizing. It is used for the manifestation of desires and to increase intellectual abilities, clarity of thought, Amber cleanses the environment around it by drawing out negativity. If you wear or carry Amber, it will bring patience, protection, psychic shielding, romantic love, sensuality, purification, balance, healing and calmness It's sometimes used as a good luck charm for marriage. Healing properties: The same property that makes Amber useful for cleansing the environment makes Amber good for removing pain by drawing out negativity. Amber is also used for purifying the body, headaches, bone problems, heart problems, circulation, ears, hearing problems, endocrine system, fibromyalgia, intestinal/digestive disorders, kidney, bladder, lungs, and general healing purposes.
Apache-Tear: Metaphysical properties: Apache-Tears relieve grief and sadness as well as assisting in giving and accepting forgiveness. They help release negative emotions, and also can help balance a person's emotions. It is believed that the possession of an Apache-Tear brings good luck. Apache-Tears are also meditation tools, used for clarifying issues and gaining insight. They can also be used to gently ground a person. Bloodstone: Metaphysical properties: Bloodstone is useful for centering and grounding and is a calming stone which is particularly useful in survival, fight or flight, situations. Chrysacola: Metaphysical properties: A stone of harmony, Chrysacola is used to purify a place or remove negativity from an individual. A very gentle stone, its energy works in a gentle, harmonious way. Chrysacola helps to ease fear, anxiety, and guilt. Chrysacolla is related to the throat chakra, but can also be used on the heart and solar plexus chakras. Garnet: Metaphysical properties: A stone of romantic love and passion, Garnets enhance sensuality, sexuality, and intimacy. They are also good for “positive thinking” and can increase energy. They are also used for manifestation. Garnets can be used as an aid to bring success in one's career and are good for building self-confidence. A protective energy stone, they protect from evil. They are also used for gentle spiritual healing. Garnet is mainly associated with the root chakra, but also with other chakras depending on color. Healing properties: Garnets heal the blood, heart and lungs.
Jade: Metaphysical properties: Works with the heart chakra and can be used to attract and enhance love. Green Jade is also considered to be a stone of abundance. Jade is also associated with fidelity and generosity. Healing properties: Because of its connection with the heart chakra, Jade is used for physical healing of the heart. Jade is also used to heal lung problems, kidney problems, immune system weakness, PTSD, and nervous system overwork.
Lapis Lazuli: Metaphysical properties: Lapis is associated with truthfulness, openness, inner power, intuition, creativity, virility and manifestation. It makes the mind and body stronger, and it increases awareness and spiritual evolution. It's also used to aid in the organization of daily life, and can also be used to organize or quieten a busy or restless mind. Since ancient times, Lapis utilized to contact guardian spirits or spirit guides. It can also be used to build self-confidence. Lapis brings spiritual love and can also enhance love and fidelity within marriage. Not unrelated, it can help a person overcome shyness. Associated with the throat and brow chakras, Lapis can help one say just the right thing, and it protects from both physical and psychic attacks. Healing properties: Lapis is used for sinus ailments, headaches, nervous system, speech problems, pituitary gland and pain relief.
Moss Agate: Metaphysical properties: Moss Agate is used to bring general abundance, success, and prosperity. It's also used to gain peace when your responsibilities or duties become too much. Moss Agate is used to improve self-confidence and bring higher self-esteem. Like all agates, it's considered to be a stone of protection. Because of its connection with the heart chakra, it's also used for compatiblity and friendship issues. Green moss agate is used to help find hidden treasure, and is a stone of prosperity. Healing qualities: Healers use Moss Agate to improve circulation, enhance healing of all types, and to overcome digestive or intestinal disorders.
Picture Jasper: Metaphysical properties: Picture Jasper creates harmony, proportion, creative visualization, and is used to bring about positive results in business pursuits. Picture Jasper also brings and shows hidden messages from the past as well as hidden thoughts, fears, and hopes. Healing properties: Picture Jasper is used as an emotional and psychological healing stone.
Rainbow Moonstone: Metaphysical properties: A gentle and calm energy is associated with Rainbow Moonstone. The stone helps to strengthen intuition and psychic perception, and enhances creativity, compassion, endurance and inner confidence. It's also used to bring balance and harmony. The rainbow effect brings in the entire spectrum of light, so it can be used for clearing and bringing in uplifting energies. Rainbow Moonstone is also believed to have the power to grant wishes.

This stone increases personal power and will, as well as life force energy. Sunstone is also said to be helpful in contacting animal or spirit guides. Helpful for developing leadership qualities. Healing properties: Sunstone helps to dispell fears and phobias of all kinds. It's helps to bring or maintain general health, physical energy, sexual dysfunction, and increases sexual energy.
Tiger Iron: Metaphysical properties: Tiger Iron is used to bring protection from danger, and is also known for its grounding properties. It's said that Tiger Iron will help a person to see the truth beneath the surface. In any case, the stone is known to bring clarity – especially as far as knowledge is concerned. Tiger Iron can also be used to help get the creative juices going, and is associated with helping all manner of artists. It brings strength, vitality, confidence, willpower, and balance, and can be used as a motivating force. Tiger Iron is related to the sacral and root chakras. Healing properties: Tiger Iron balances white and red blood cells, increases natural steroids, and improves muscular structure. It aids the healing the legs, sexual organs, liver, and the nervous system.
Tourmalated Quartz: Metaphysical properties: Tourmalated Quartz is an excellent protective stone, and brings balance and inner strength, deflecting and grounding negativity, and reducing anxiety and depression. Healing properties: As a healing stone, Tourmalated Quartz is a powerful force. Use it to draw out toxins, negativity and disease by drawing it over the affected area. When used for healing, your Tourmalated Quartz will eventually fill-up with “gunk.” Do not attempt to cleanse it for reuse when this happens. Bury it and get another piece.
